To Members and Friends of Yeager Union Church

In the name of Christ, I greet you all: What a blessing it is to be in worship, bible study or mission activities with all of you. How many times have other said what I feel, that if I am not in church on Sunday the rest of the week just doesn’t go as well!

Just to bring you up to date: Our Adult Sunday School is in a new study. We each have a book and a lesson a week is assigned. On Sunday we share what that lesson means to each of us. Loren Simmons leads this study. On Wednesday evenings, we just finished studying the book of Acts. For the next few weeks, members of the study will lead a discussion of their choosing. August 4th, Penny Simmons will begin leading a study of Ephesians.

I urge you to take advantage of these opportunities to learn more about the bible and to grow in faith as we share with each other during these studies.

Starting the first part of September. Marilyn and I will lead a short course on Christian Caregiving. Whether it is a fellow member of the congregation or a friend or neighbor we all need the skills to help people who are in crisis, who are struggling with any number of issues. Some of the skills we will learn is better reflective listening, feelings, telecare, assertiveness, confidentiality and many more. We plan to have classes once a week for 6 weeks or so. Let us know when would best suit you. I encourage you to take this opportunity to be better caregivers in all areas of your life. A sign-up sheet will be passed around at church and be posted on the bulletin board.

Dates coming up… Sunday, July 11th Show Me Christian Youth Home will be here to share in worship and tell us about their program. A dinner will be held afterward. August 1st is our next time to conduct worship at Lincoln Community Nursing Home. All are welcome to participate. August 13 and 14th Olan Mills will be here to take pictures for our new Pictorial Directory. This is also a time to have pictures made for family and friends. August 18th is the next Youth Sunday. We are looking forward to this service put on by the younger group and little kids. Grace and peace to all of you!
